Qualifications

Experience in reputable financial institutions.

Prior execution experience in equity capital markets, M&A or broader corporate finance with a proven track record.

Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills with sound knowledge of financial, accounting and operational concepts.

Strong academic background with a track record of success.

Research Associate

Location: Shanghai

Role and Responsibilities: 

• Support senior team members 

• Maintain and update databases for macro context, thematic analysis and event-driven analysis • Conduct fundamental and financial analysis on markets, sectors, industries and individual companies

 • Create, maintain and update models of current and potential portfolio companies on a regular basis • Assist in the evaluation of investment strategies, tactical opportunities, sector allocations and stock ideas 

• Make contributions to research reports with guidance from senior team members 

• Monitor and analyze flows of news, events and information 

• Work on various client requests independently and in a timely and accurate manner • Respond quickly, efficiently and accurately to ad-hoc requests


Capacity

 • Understanding of financial markets and various asset classes is a must 

• Competitive proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese in a clear and concise manner 

• Insightful with a drive to analyze information in order to form and test conclusions

 • Knowledge and understanding of various valuation methodologies and metrics for equity analysis of sectors as well as financial modelling skills would be expected 

• Comfort with data mining, econometric modelling and spreadsheets with quantitative analysis skills 

• Experience of statistical and econometric techniques as well as proficiency in the use of relevant software languages 

• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills 

• Proficient with financial databases and analytical platforms, such as Bloomberg, WIND, CEIC, Refinitiv Datastream and FactSet 

• Strong hands-on experience and knowledge of statistics packages, such as EViews, Stata, MATLAB and SPSS • Solid coding skills of Excel VBA, C++ and Python 

• Organized; diligent; attention to detail • Proven track record for problem solving and timely delivery, when facing challenges and pressures with shifting priorities, deadlines, and goals
